The New York Rangers were founded in 1926, and are known as one of the Original Six Clubs. They were founded by George “Tex” Rickard who built and owned the third version of Madison Square Garden. They have won four Stanley Cups, with the most recent coming in 1994, when they defeated the Vancouver Canucks in seven games in the Stanley Cup Final. They have reached the Stanley Cup Final on seven other occasions.
