Latest Rumors:
- The Edmonton Oilers may be close to dealing defenseman Justin Schultz.
“Hearing that oilers Justin Schultz being scratch tonight vs devils might be trade related.”
- Despite contract talks stalling, the New York Islanders aren’t expected to trade Kyle Okposo.
Contract talks between the Islanders and Okposo’s agent, Pat Brisson, have not progressed, and the belief is that a new deal will not be ironed out any time soon…Now, however, he’s off the board, as he currently leads the club with 41 points and is focused on helping the Islanders win.
- Speaking of contracts, talks between Milan Lucic and the Los Angeles Kings are picking up more steam.
“There’s been two or three little talks here and there,” Lucic told the paper. “My plan is to remain a King and hopefully finish off my career here. Like I said, I go day by day and you never know what tomorrow is going to bring.”
- The Vancouver Canucks could ship out both Radim Vrbata and Dan Hamhuis by the deadline.
“I signed for two seasons (at $10 million US) and have no desire to leave, even though this season is not going as well. You sign up for something, you have to deal with the good and the bad. If it (a trade) happens, it happens, and you go from there.”
- Ryan McDonagh’s concussion could put a hold on any Keith Yandle trade.
For the issue as it applies specifically to pending free agent Keith Yandle is no longer black and white in the aftermath of the grey matter rattled inside the captain’s skull as a result of the gloved sucker punch he took on the jaw from Wayne Simmonds in Philadelphia on Saturday.
