The Olympics make for the biggest international tournament, and throughout the years, there have been some magical moments. While the NHL put together the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, it has been since 2014 that NHL players played a true best-on-best tournament with all the top nations (minus Russia).
Despite a bumpy road to get to this point, the Olympics are here, and everybody will get to see their favourite top athletes participate once again.
Olympics Eligibility
To play in the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) World Championships, the Olympics ice hockey tournament, and the qualifications to these competitions, players must fulfill the following qualification requirements:
- Each player must be under the jurisdiction of an IIHF member national association.
- Each player must be a citizen of the country he/she represents.
