The Toronto Maple Leafs were founded in 1917 as one of the Original Six clubs. The club has won 13 Stanley Cup championships, second only to the 24 championships of the Montreal Canadiens. The team was known as the Arenas and the St. Patricks before ultimately settling on Maple Leafs in 1927. While the franchise has won 13 Stanley Cups, the last occurred in 1967 giving the team the longest championship drought in the NHL.
