Winnipeg Jets and ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals End Affiliation

The Winnipeg Jets and the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals have ended their affiliation after three seasons.

The Admirals announced the news on social media Wednesday morning.

The Admirals, located in Virginia, were the Jets’ ECHL affiliate since 2023-24. A number of Jets draft picks played for the Admirals at some point, including goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis, forward Jacob Julien, defenseman Dmitry Kuzmin, goaltender Thomas Milic, and goaltender Oskari Salminen. Many players on minor-league contracts also went up and down between American Hockey League affiliate Manitoba Moose and the Admirals.

The Jets have had various ECHL affiliates through their 2.0 era, including the Jacksonville Icemen (2017-18 to 2020-21), Tulsa Oilers (2015-16 to 2016-17), Ontario Reign (2013-14 to 2014-15 as a secondary affiliate behind the Los Angeles Kings), and Colorado Eagles (2012-13).

The Jets have yet to announce a new ECHL affiliate.
