1. Rockford IceHogs (7-2-1)
Rockford takes over the top spot after winning three of its four games this past week, including both of its weekend matchups. Adam Clendenning is tied for third in the AHL with eight assists.

2. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (6-1-0-1)
The Penguins suffered their first two losses of 2013-14. A comeback effort in Binghamton fell short in the shootout, while Brian Gibbons scored the team’s only goal on Saturday against Norfolk.

3. Springfield Falcons (5-1-0-1)
Springfield, the league’s only other undefeated team prior to the past weekend, also lost for the first time. Veteran forward Ryan Craig was recently re-assigned to the team from the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Falcons’ AHL affiliate.

4. Manchester Monarchs (6-1-1-2)
Manchester split a two-game set with the St. John’s IceCaps and defeated the Worcester Sharks by a score of 4-1 on Wednesday. Third-year forward Tyler Toffoli is tied for second in the AHL with seven goals and has 12 points through the Monarchs’ first 10 games.

5. Binghamton Senators (5-3-0-0)
Binghamton’s last two wins have come by way of overtime and the shootout, and it handed rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton its first loss of the season on Friday. The Senators’ power play is first in the AHL at 32.3 percent, and forward Mike Hoffman has three goals when the Sens are on the man advantage.

6. Texas Stars (5-3-1-0)
Texas scored four goals in a victory over Oklahoma City, but could only combine for the same number in losses against Milwaukee and Rockford. Travis Morin, who was recently called up to Dallas, is still tied for the league lead with eight goals.

7. Charlotte Checkers (4-2-0-1)
Charlotte played three games in three days this weekend and shut out the Griffins and Chicago Wolves by identical scores of 5-0. Goaltender John Muse earned AHL Player of the Week honors, as he had 57 saves combined in those two contests.

8. Hamilton Bulldogs (4-2-0-2)
Hamilton caught fire this past week, winning two games in overtime and taking a 3-2 regulation victory from the Utica Comets. Louis Leblanc is tied for the AHL lead with two game-winning goals.

9. Norfolk Admirals (5-2-2)
The Admirals held the Phantoms and Penguins to one goal in two games before losing to Hershey on Sunday by a 4-2 margin. Top goaltending prospect John Gibson had a record of 3-1-2 with a 1.44 GAA and .953 save percentage.

10. Grand Rapids Griffins (4-2-1-1)
Grand Rapids bounced back from a 5-0 loss to Charlotte with identical 3-2 wins on Saturday and Sunday. Goalie Tom McCollum is undefeated in four games and boasts a .923 save percentage and a 2.18 GAA.

11. Rochester Americans (4-2-1-0)
The Amerks are trying to bounce back after a slow start and got points in their games on Friday and Saturday. Luke Adam is tied for fifth in the AHL with 10 points and second with seven goals.

12. Hartford Wolf Pack (6-2-0-1)
Hartford had a tough week, losing to a mediocre Portland team and dropping a one-goal game to Albany. It finished things off by beating Hershey on Saturday. Aaron Johnson and Danny Syvret each have eight goals, and Johnson has 11 points to rank fourth in the league.

13. Albany Devils (5-2-0-1)
Albany scored four goals apiece against Utica and Hartford, but couldn’t have a perfect week and lost to Portland 5-2 on Saturday. Goalies Scott Wedgewood and Keith Kinkaid have each played four games and only have two losses between them.

14. Abbotsford Heat (4-4-0-1)
After being spotted for nine goals against Texas on October 20, the Heat responded by splitting a two-game set with the Lake Erie Monsters. Corban Knight and Paul Byron are tied for the team scoring lead with seven points apiece.

15. Toronto Marlies (5-3-0-0)
The Marlies have lost three of their last five games, but two of those losses were one-goal games against top Western Conference clubs in Rockford and Hamilton. Toronto still sits in third place in the conference.

16. Syracuse Crunch (4-2-1-0)
The Crunch have won three games in a row going back to October 19 at Binghamton. They trounced Bridgeport 5-0 on Saturday and picked up a shootout win over the Comets. Nikita Kucherov leads all AHL rookies with six goals and 11 points.

17. Providence Bruins (4-2-0-2)
The Bruins handed Springfield its first loss of the season on Friday in a 4-3 shootout. Matt Fraser then scored twice on Saturday to give Providence a win over the IceCaps. Nick Johnson has eight points through the first eight games.

18. Milwaukee Admirals (3-0-2-0)
The Admirals of the West played just one game this week, a 4-2 victory over the Stars. Colton Sissons had two goals and leads Milwaukee with four goals and six points.

19. Portland Pirates (2-3-0-1)
Portland scored nine goals in its wins over Albany and Hartford. Daine Todd had three assists on Wednesday. The Pirates could be in trouble headed into this week’s action, as top scorers Andy Miele and team captain Jordan Szwarz were both recalled to the Phoenix Coyotes.

20. Oklahoma City Barons (4-5-0-1)
In Oklahoma City’s only win of the week against San Antonio, Linus Omark had his second career four-goal game. Unfortunately, the Barons lost the rematch to the Rampage and also dropped a contest to the Stars.

21. St. John’s IceCaps (3-5-1-0)
The IceCaps went 1-2 on the first half of a six-game road swing, surrendering five goals to both Manchester and Providence. Eric O’Dell and Andrew Gordon each have two power-play goals on a unit that is ranked ninth in the league with a 20 percent success rate.

22. Adirondack Phantoms (2-4-0-2)
Adirondack was shut out on Friday against Norfolk, but came back to beat Binghamton 3-1 on Saturday. Cal Heeter had a solid night in goal with 35 saves on 36 shots.

23. Lake Erie Monsters (4-4-0-0)
The Monsters couldn’t put together a winning streak after taking two games in a row between Weeks 2 and 3. Mark Olver had three helpers in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Abbotsford, but Lake Erie won’t get to make up much ground with only one upcoming game.

24. Hershey Bears (2-3-1-0)
Hershey won its first home game of the season on Sunday by a score of 4-2 over Norfolk. Defenseman Dmitry Orlov leads the Bears with six points despite playing in just four games.

25. Worcester Sharks (2-3-0-0)
The Sharks are struggling to find consistency in the early going and have yet to score more than three goals a game. However, Daniil Tarasov is tied for fourth in the AHL with five goals, while Bracken Kearns has seven assists to share fourth place in that category.

26. San Antonio Rampage (3-5-0-0)
The Rampage and Barons split two games this weekend, and Vincent Trocheck posted three points in Saturday’s 4-2 win. The rookie is tied for fourth in the league with five goals and is second in scoring among first-year players with nine points in eight games.

27. Iowa Wild (4-2-0-0)
Iowa picked up a shootout win over a weak Chicago Wolves team before losing to Grand Rapids on Sunday. Despite their winning record, they are in 11th place in a tight Western Conference. Carson McMillan has six points in the team’s first six contests, but the Wild don’t have a standout player as of now.

28. Chicago Wolves (3-5-0-1)
The Wolves are on a three-game losing streak, and their worst loss of the week was a 5-0 shutout against the Checkers. Mark Mancari leads the team with four goals, while Corey Locke, one of the AHL’s top centers, is first with seven points.

29. Bridgeport Sound Tigers (1-4-1-0)
Bridgeport is on a four-game losing skid and has been shut out twice in its first six games. The schedule will not be getting any easier this week, as the Sound Tigers will face two of the Eastern Conference’s better teams. Despite the bleak outlook, Ryan Strome has a point in every game so far.

30. Utica Comets (0-5-0-1)
The Comets are still searching for their first win in franchise history. They haven’t been blown out, but have only scored more than two goals once, a 6-4 loss to Rochester on October 19. AHL veteran Pascal Pelletier has eight points for Utica.
