Devils Sign Arseny Gritsyuk to a 3-Year Contract Extension

On Tuesday, June 30, the New Jersey Devils announced they have re-signed forward Arseny Gritsyuk to a three-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $3.25 million. The official contract breakdown is as followed: 2026-27: $2.25 million; 2027-28: $2.75 million; 2028-29: $4.75 million.

Gritsyuk just concluded his first season with the Devils, where he played in 66 games and recorded 31 points (13 goals and 18 assists.) He recorded his first NHL assist on Oct. 11 and ended up recording two assists in that game. He scored his first NHL goal five games later, on Oct. 22, against the Minnesota Wild. Gritsyuk’s 2025-26 season was cut short after he endured an upper-body injury in March. Although he was originally listed as week-to-week, it was announced later in the season that the injury required surgery and that he would miss the rest of the season.

Gritsyuk alternated between the top and bottom six throughout his first season with the Devils. He proved himself from the beginning that he has skill and deserves a chance to earn more minutes; playing alongside players such as Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier allowed Gritsyuk to hone his skills more as well.

The Devils tendered Gritsyuk a qualifying offer the day prior, June 29, as he was a pending restricted free agent coming off his one-year deal with the Devils. By extending him a qualifying offer, the Devils made sure they retained Gritsyuk’s rights.

It is clear that the Devils see something great in Gritsyuk. His talent shines both on and off the ice and he is a young star in the making who is already a huge addition to the current Devils squad. It will be even more exciting to see how he develops in his sophomore season in New Jersey after using the offseason to heal and recover from surgery.
