U.S. Names Roster, Captains for Women’s World Championship

USA Hockey has named the U.S. National Team roster for the 2016 IIHF Women’s World Championship, which will take place March 28-April 4 in Kamloops, British Columbia in Canada.

For the first time in an international best-on-best tournament, the NWHL has a significant presence on the U.S. team. It’s an important moment for the league, who holds nine of the team’s 23 roster spots. 10 are from the NCAA, with Hockey East leading the way with five players.

The Minnesota Whitecaps have four representatives on the team, including two goaltenders.
