Ducks Sign Deven Sideroff to ELC

The Anaheim Ducks announced the signing of right wing Deven Sideroff to a three-year, entry-level contract Thursday. The team did not disclose salary details, but TVA’s Renaud Lavoie reports that the deal has a $625,000 base salary with a possible $278,000 in bonuses.

Sideroff was a 2015 3rd round draft pick (84th overall) for the Ducks. He has spent a part of the late summer, including Friday when the deal was officially announced, playing for Team Canada at the 2016 World Junior Evaluation Camp in Plymouth, Michigan.

The 19-year-old played his first professional game this spring when he grabbed a single game with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls. He spent the season playing for the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he scored 19 goals and 59 points in 63 games with a plus-4 rating and 28 penalty minutes. He was able to set career-high marks in goals, assists and points with Kamloops last year.

He’s currently in Plymouth working toward a World Junior Championship roster spot, but it wouldn’t be the first time he donned the maple leaf for his country. He was a part of Canda’s gold medal-winning U18 team in 2015. In those seven tournament contests, he scored three goals and four points.
