Pete started playing organized hockey at age four and continues to this day, currently in the South Bend (Indiana) Senior Hockey League. He grew up in Detroit, a staunch Red Wings fan. However, Pete's wife, the incredible Dr. Mary Ellen O'Connell, was a professor of law at The Ohio State University when the Columbus Blue Jackets entered the NHL. Pete & Mary Ellen were loyal Blue Jackets season ticket holders from the club's first year until a move to the University of Notre Dame Law School. Pete is a former broadcast journalist, covering both sports and news while working for several radio stations in the Midwest. He has been recognized by the Associated Press for his work as a stringer. He is also the author of over a dozen books on photography, Adobe Photoshop, and related subjects. ("Photoshop CC for Dummies" is his current book.) Pete follows NHL, AHL, NCAA, and Junior hockey.
