Blackhawks Update: Bickell Injury, Penalty Kill

Jeremy Morin

Morin was effective in limited icetime in his first game following a call up from Rockford on Wednesday. Sheldon Brookbank – who had been consistently ineffective playing out of position at wing – was scratched Thursday night against Winnipeg.

Bryan Bickell

This is good news considering how eerily similar the play Bickell got hurt on was to the play that broke Steven Stamkos’ tibia.

Toews Back to a Point-Per-Game Pace

The forward often maligned for not having an elite offensive game continues to prove that he certainly does have one. Toews has scored at a 40-goals per 82 games pace for two seasons in a row and appears primed to make it three after a four point outing in Winnipeg Thursday.

Penalty Kill Is Troublesome

The Chicago penalty kill is operating at a ghastly 72.7%, the worst of any NHL team other than the New York Islanders.
