Evander Kane Leaves Game With Leg Injury

Around the halfway point of the third period on Saturday, Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane was hit awkwardly into the boards by David Schlemko of the New Jersey Devils. Kane went down after the hit, clearly in a lot of pain and grasping at his knee.

He did not return to the game after he was helped off the ice.

You can see the hit in the video below.

Following the game, coach Dan Bylsma didn’t have an update on Kane’s status and said he didn’t want to speculate about it.

It’d be a blow for the team to lose Kane for any significant amount of time and would deprive fans of Kane for a second season in a row, right in the heart of when the former 30-goal scorer should be in his prime.

Kane has a goal and two assists through seven games this season.
