Things I Look Forward to More Than the End of the Season

Look, I don’t know if  yesterday was the last straw in a string of incidents involving Kadri and not showing up on time. I figure it can’t be the first instance because if it was, you think they’d cut him some slack since it’s Daylight Savings and all, but really – who cares?

Just another scandal in a season that can’t end fast enough.  Besides wanting this season to end, I thought I would provide you with a list of things I also look forward to.

Take your mind off the drama, if you will.

1. When will Clive Barker release the third part of the Art Trilogy?

If you’ve done the Dark Tower, Harry Potter, Wheel of Time and GOT and you haven’t read Barker’s equally engrossing fantasy series, do yourself a favor and head over to your local used book store and pick up a paperback copy of The Great and Secret Show.  Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

And if you think George Martin is taking too long to bring you GOT #6, keep this in mind: We’ve been waiting 21 years for part 3.

2. Season 3 of the Sarah Connor Chronicles

Maybe I am alone in finding that the SSCs were better than any of the Terminator movies, but that’s how I feel. I love the first two Terminator movies as much as anyone, but the TV show was a masterpiece of ambitious television writing and spectacle.  Canceling this show before letting it play out is one of the worst decisions anyone has ever made.

3. Another J.D Salinger Novel

This one we might actually get, but I’ll see it when I believe it.  The Catcher in the Rye is my (and mostly everybody’s) favorite novel of all-time. Unfortunately Salinger never published a second novel, choosing to walk away from his fame at the height of his powers.

Rumour has it that he spent the next 50 odd years writing daily and that one day soon we will be treated to the greatest unpublished treasure-trove in the history of literature.  It seems too good to be true, but I still can’t wait.

4. An unreleased follow up to Use Your Illusion (featuring the classic Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, lineup) is unearthed and shown the light of day.

This is my musical fantasy, and while unlikely, who knows? The band released close to 40 songs on the double album in 1991, but you have to figure they didn’t release everything they ever wrote, so I hope that one day a there is a lost GNR album bestowed upon us by a merciful Lord.

5.Stephen King gives us more Dark Tower material.

I’d be happy with a book eight. Another book of Roland’s back-story. What about a back-story of the Crimson King?

Or my ultimate fan-boy deam: a 1000 page opus centering around the life of Flagg.

He could give us the story of the Wizard’s Rainbow, the Cantoi, the breakers, the Good Man…..I could go on all day. I am a little sick in the head I think with how much I love the Dark Tower.  If King won’t give us more, I look forward to maybe a movie/TV Series with great enthusiasm.

Anyways, Nazem Kadri is a healthy scratch because he was late. Normally I would have an opinion on this, but I’m just scandaled out when it comes to the Maple Leafs.  If they could just forfeit the rest of the games of the season, that’d be the best thing that could happen at this point.

Thanks for reading.
