Kings Give 17-Year-Old Jacob Moverare Entry-Level Deal

The Los Angeles Kings have signed 17-year-old defenseman Jacob Moverare to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Thursday.

The Swedish defenseman was drafted in the 4th round (112th overall) of the 2016 NHL draft. He spent last season playing for the HV71 J20 team in Sweden’s SuperElit League, where he pulled in five goals and 21 points, as well as a plus-3 rating and 22 penalty minutes. He also grabbed four games at the SHL level for HV71.

He also skated with the Swedish national team at the 2016 U18 World Junior Championship, putting up five points through seven games, helping the Swedes to win silver at the tournament.
