The Los Angeles Kings have signed 6-foot-3 forward Matt Luff to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Thursday.
The 19-year-old native of Oakville, Ontario was an undrafted free agent who spent last season with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). There he scored 27 goals and 57 points in 61 games. He also grabbed a goal and two assists in four postseason matches.
Scouts have praised his offensive ability and hoped that a more physical game will follow his development that could result in improved offensive abilities. He an invitee to the Kings development camp and rookie camp and earned the entry-level deal.
