New Jersey Devils Announce Prospects Challenge Roster

The New Jersey Devils have announced their roster for the 2016 Prospects Challenge, set to take place at Buffalo’s HarborCenter on Sept. 17 and 18.

Highlighting the roster are the organizations last three first-round draft picks Michael McLeod, Pavel Zacha and John Quenneville. All three are approaching their NHL career, and Zacha has a shot at making the team out of training camp this year.

Also making an appearance will be Mackenzie Blackwood, goaltender for the 2016 Canadian national team at the World Junior Championship. They’ll also have four players who spent some time with the NHL club last year in Joseph “shot out of a canon” Blandisi, Blake Pietila, Miles Wood and Steven Santini.

The latter two both played the majority of last year with a Boston College squad that made a run to the Frozen Four before being knocked out in the semifinal. Both players then signed their first professional contract shortly after being eliminated.
