Old School Bruins: Compared to This Fighting Has Come a Long Way

Say what you will about the state of fighting in hockey today, but just be thankful things like this don’t take place anymore. Can you imagine what would happen if players started climbing the glass to get to fans? The legal ramifications would be paramount. I also have to believe that in today’s world it wouldn’t be beyond some knife or pistol-packing wacko to “protect himself” and end things much more violently than a few whacks with a shoe.

  1. I definately agree with you. “Old school” hockey seemed to be a much more violent game at times. I really don’t have a solution to the issue of fighting in todays NHL. I’ve never wanted to see any player get seriously hurt, yet fighting is a part of the game that we all love.
