The Philadelphia Flyers return to action this week after a hiatus due to the 2026 Winter Olympics. Here is the schedule and storylines for the week ahead.
Recapping Flyers’ Olympic Results
The Flyers had three participants at the 2026 Winter Olympics, which concluded on Feb. 22. They were Rasmus Ristolainen (Finland), Travis Sanheim (Canada), and Dan Vladař (Czechia).
Starting with Ristolainen, he raised some major eyebrows. The 31-year-old defenseman recorded three assists and a tournament-leading plus-9 rating in six games, winning a bronze medal in the process. With the Flyers unlikely to make the playoffs at this stage, a trade may be on the horizon.

After Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey suffered an injury, Sanheim’s role increased for Canada. In five games, he had an assist and a plus-6 rating, eventually losing in the gold-medal game vs. the United States.
Finally, there was Vladař. His only appearance was against France, a 6–3 victory where he stopped nine of 12 shots. He and Czechia fell to Canada in the quarterfinals.
Alex Bump & Spencer Gill Back from Injury
Over the break, two key Flyers prospects returned from injury. American Hockey League (AHL) winger Alex Bump was sidelined for about a month and a half but returned recently. Since coming back, he has three goals in four games.

Defenseman Spencer Gill’s injury was much longer-term, and he’s finally healthy. He recently recorded four points for the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.
