Rangers’ Arthur Kaliyev to Miss Remainder of 2024-25 Season With Upper-Body Injury

The 2024-25 regular season is quickly coming to a close with the postseason rapidly approaching. The New York Rangers, who are fighting to try and get back to the playoffs, will be without Arthur Kaliyev for the remainder of the campaign as it was announced he would miss the rest of the regular season and the playoffs with an upper-body injury.

Kaliyev, who is 23 years old, has played just 14 games this season scoring three goals and adding one assist for four points. He played last Tuesday (Mar. 11) against the Winnipeg Jets, but has missed the majority of their recent games dealing with his injury. He has also played five games in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Ontario Reign scoring one goal and adding one assist for two points before he was placed on waivers and claimed by the Rangers.

Through 202 games played in his NHL career, Kaliyev has scored 38 goals and added 37 assists for 75 points which comes out to a 0.37 points-per-game average.

The Rangers currently hold the second wild-card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a 33-29-6 record, just a one-point lead over the Montreal Canadiens. With just 14 games remaining and the teams below them having games in hand, the Rangers are hoping the rest of their lineup can help them maintain a spot in the postseason.
