Winnipeg Jets’ top prospect Viggo Bjorck has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the club. The deal carries an annual average value of $1.075 million.
The Jets selected the 18 year old eighth overall at the 2026 NHL Entry Draft last month. The Swedish centre is perhaps the team’s most-important pick in a decade as the organization is hoping he can become the second-line centre they’ve been seeking for a number of seasons.
On Saturday, Bjorck opted out of the second and final year of his contract with the Swedish Hockey League’s Djurgardens IF, confirming he’d be playing within the Jets organization in 2026-27. He will be eligible to play for the Jets and the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League and will wear #61 with the Jets.
