New York Islanders

Rob McGowan is our Islanders correspondent

I am a current Grad student at CUNY Queens, recently graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a History Minor. I am a USA Hockey Ice Official but still find time to play the game as much as I can. I have played hockey for years and have even coached my former high school roller hockey team. Most importantly, I am also a member of the NYI Blog Box, a program run by the New York Islanders that supplies media credentials to bloggers to attend Isles games with access to the post-game press conferences with the opportunity to interview players and coaches. With the youth movement in full swing I have been covering the seasonal development of all the Islanders, particularly the players who are the future of the franchise. The goal of my blog is to provide a realistic approach as what to expect out of the Isles younger players and how actions over the course of the season will affect them while monitoring their progress as well.
