Jets’ Connor Hellebuyck Named NHL’s Third Star of the Week For Third Time This Season

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been named the NHL’s Third Star for the week of April 7 to 13.

Hellebuyck went 3-0-0 last week and helped the Jets clinch first in the Central Division and Western Conference Saturday in the 5-4 shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks. He posted a 1.69 goals against average (GAA), .961 save percentage (SV%), and captured his eighth shutout of the season in the pivotal Thursday matchup against the Dallas Stars to further bolster his chances of winning his second-straight and third-career Vezina Trophy and his first Hart Memorial Trophy.

This is the 31-year-old’s sixth time being named an NHL Star of the Week this season and he now has two First Star nods, one Second Star nod, and three Third Star nods to his name. He owns a 46-12-3 record, 2.02 GAA, .924 SV%, and has saved 39.3 goals above expected on the season.
