New Jersey Devils forward Mike Cammalleri has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, the team announced Tuesday.
Cammalleri dealt on and off with a wrist or hand injury for the second half of the season, after starting the season at a nearly point per game pace. It was a huge start to his year in the second season of a five-year deal with the Devils.
He first left the lineup following a December 30 game against the Senators, returning a couple weeks later. However, he only played four games before suffering another setback that has kept him out since January 26.

The 33-year-old forward has continued to be a solid producer in recent years, but the underlying numbers show a much better season happening this year. He was on a similar goal pace to last year, when he scored 27, but was shooting 4% worse than last year while only seeing about one minute more ice time per game.
He’ll finish the year having scored 14 goals and 38 points in 42 games.
