A photo of Bobby Ryan and a couple kids made the rounds before Sunday afternoon’s Ottawa Senators vs. New York Rangers tilt.
Two kids held a sign up to the glass during warm-ups that said “BOBBY, DAD SAID IF YOU SCORE WE GET A PUPPY.”
With just 20 seconds left in the second period of a scoreless game, Bobby Ryan put Dad’s promises to the test, beating Kevin Klein to a loose puck and putting it home. That would be the first of three goals Ottawa tallied in a 3-0 win.
The camera crew kept their eyes on those two kids and got the camera quickly to them celebrating after Ryan’s goal. The camera also caught their dad pacing into the stairs with a look of disbelief. Those are some happy kids who are the future-owners of a puppy that will probably be named Bobby.
Watch the puppy-winning goal below.
UPDATE:
Turns out they are actually going to name the dog Bobby.
