Carey Price Will Return Friday

The Montreal Canadiens are getting back last year’s MVP and Vezina Trophy winner Carey Price, the team announced Thursday night. He plans on starting against the Islanders in Brooklyn on Friday.

Price has been out of the lineup since he was injured in an October 29 game against the Edmonton Oilers. Price was initially slated to miss just a week, but the team was careful with him and Price sought a second opinion on his injury in New York.

Through much of that stretch, rookie Mike Condon performed very well, but the team will no doubt be glad to have their starter back as their hot start has cooled off a little.

Price is 7-2-0 through nine games with a .936 save percentage, which ranks third in the NHL.
