Dale Weise Out 5-10 Games

Injured in the Winter Classic on New Year’s Day, Montreal Canadiens forward Dale Weise has been ruled out of play for five to ten days, according to TVA’s Renaud Lavoie.

The injury suffered in the annual outdoor event has been officially termed an upper-body injury by the team, but from the replay of his final shift in the game it looks like he injured his hand on the play.

Weise took a cross check to the back and was pushed over into an oncoming shot that hit him in the hand. He got up shaking his hand and skated to the bench. Weise left the game and did not return.

On the season, Weise has put up a career-high 11 goals and is well on his way to set a career-high mark in points as well.
