Gianni Fairbrother (born September 30, 2000) is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently under contract with the Montreal Canadiens. He started his major junior career in the 2017-18 season with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL), scoring two goals and three assists in 30 games. One year later, his offensive numbers took off as he amassed 36 points in 64 games while finishing with a plus-23 rating. He completed his final year during the 2020-21 season, serving as the team’s captain. Fairbrother was selected 77th overall by the Canadiens in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
Fairbrother joined the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League (AHL), playing in and out of the lineup and finishing his first season at the pro level with 25 games. He also appeared in three playoff games during the Rocket’s AHL run which ended in the Conference Final.
