There has been a trade between the Maple Leafs and Blackhawks. [Toronto Star]

The people have spoken. John Scott is an All-Star. [Edmonton Journal]. His former teammates aren’t sold on the idea. [Mercury News]

(My two cents: Based on the overall quality of the game, players not wanting to go and the terribly awkward shoot-out challenges, it’s hard to take this weekend seriously. But, it has been long seen as an honor to be an All-Star. Either it continues to be based on merit, or you have fun with it and let the fans vote whoever they want. This in between is just making a bigger mockery of the event than it already is on its own).

In reality, fans are making fun of Scott and the disgrace that is the All-Star Game. [Down Goes Brown]

Jonathan Drouin has requested a trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning. [CBC]. What went wrong? [Slapshot]

Steve Yzerman has released a statement regarding the Drouin situation. [Kukla’s Korner]

Team USA is worth paying attention to at this year’s World Juniors. [USA Today]

Other than the fact that they didn’t field a great roster, discipline was an issue for Team Canada throughout the tournament. [Edmonton Sun]. Ron Wilson agrees. [TSN]

Should Jake Virtanen be the scapegoat for Canada’s early exit? [Canucks Army]

The Habs will be missing Dale Weise for the next few weeks. [Montreal Gazette]

This years Winter Classic featured some good, some bad. Would have been better if the Bruins actually decided to show up for the game. [Puck Daddy]

Tuukka Rask was none too pleased with his teams’ play. [NHL]

The CWHL is doing great things for the You Can Play initiative. [Along the Boards]

Suspension-worthy hit by Jason Demers? [The Hockey News]

And finally, are these the Panthers new jersey’s? [Sports Logos]
