Report: Matt Murray Not Available Via Trade

The Pittsburgh Penguins are telling inquiring teams that goaltender Matt Murray is not available via trade, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman in Saturday’s “Headlines” segment.

Friedman reports that the Calgary Flames may have asked the Penguins about Murray, with Karri Ramo done for the season, but that anyone who brings Murray into trade talks “is being rebuffed.”

The highly touted prospect got his first taste of NHL action this season, going 2-1-1 with a .938 save percentage in four games.

Murray has posted a .931 save percentage and 2.11 goals against average through 30 AHL games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Both of those marks rank second in the AHL behind Peter Budaj.
