Joel Farabee and Mikael Backlund were the goal scorers for the Flames, while Dan Vladar made 24 saves.

Game Recap

Farabee deked out Lian Bichsel across the Dallas blue line on his way to a breakaway goal that beat Oettinger over the blocker at 2:13 of the opening period.

After Oettinger made two stops on Coleman and Backlund, Backlund capitalized on a rebound opportunity to score his 11th of the season at 2:29 of the second.

Johnston scored his 23rd of the season at 4:06 off a Matt Dumba rebound that he collected in the low left slot, and above Vladar’s left shoulder. That goal extended Johnston’s point streak to eight games.

The Stars tied the game at 2-2 at 9:00 of the third period, on a Robertson shot from the left circle that went through the legs of the defenseman and beat Vladar. Robertson’s 26 goals lead the team.

In overtime, Nazem Kadri was a couple inches away from a game-winner, as he rang a shot off of the post. On the ensuing rush, Matt Duchene passed the puck across the ice to the right circle to Roope Hintz, who then slid it across to Robertson, who tipped in his second of the game to seal the 3-2 win for Dallas.

The Flames edged the Stars in shots, 28-27. The Stars were 0-for-1 on the power play, while the Flames went 0-for-2.
