- The New Jersey Devils aren’t going to trade Patrick Elias
While the team is expected to take calls on some of their pending UFAs, Elias won’t be one of them, according to a source close to the team.
- After it being quiet, rumors are swirling that Jonathan Drouin will be dealt by the deadline.
Several teams, according to TFP Editor-in-Chief David Pagnotta, remain in the mix for Drouin, including the St. Louis Blues, Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators
- The Flyers won’t be adding by the deadline.
“We’re not adding,” Hextall said. “We feel comfortable with our team. We feel comfortable with our depth. We’re not gonna add.”
- The Avalanche won’t be trading Tyson Barrie. Instead, expect him to be the team’s highest-paid defenseman.
“…but after Saturday night’s late game at Edmonton, he can certainly expect to become Colorado’s highest-paid defenseman at more than $6 million”
- The Panthers feel they are a couple pieces away from being true contenders. One player could be Andrew Ladd.
Panthers GM Tallon told us other day that he’s looking for 2 pieces to put team over the top.
