The Minnesota Frost and the Montréal Victoire faced off for the fourth time this season and the second time in Montréal on Tuesday evening, Feb. 18. The goaltending matchup was between Maddie Rooney for the Frost and Elaine Chuli for the Victoire. The game started out back and forth, but the Frost took an early lead and protected it throughout the entire game. They took the win 4-0 and ended their losing streak.

Game Recap

The Frost got the game going late in the first. Liz Schepers scored her first goal of the season, she tipped a shot by Claire Thompson. Thompson and Claire Butorac assisted, and put the Frost up 1-0. There were some close chances for the rest of the period, but the Frost held the lead until the end.

The second period saw the Frost record their second goal of the game as captain Kendall Coyne-Schofield knocked on in past Chuli. Sophie Jaques and Lee Stecklein assisted her to make it 2-0. Just like in the first period, both sides had more chances, but neither could convert, and the Frost held the lead.

Denisa Křížová kept up the Frost’s habit of scoring one goal per period as she added the Frost’s third goal late in regulation. She was set up for a perfect pass by Dominique Petrie and extended the lead to 3-0. Petrie and Mae Batherson assisted her, but it still wasn’t the game’s final goal. Křížová added a second goal in the third, an empty netter to secure the 4-0 win.

The Frost will return home after being on the road for the past four games to host the Toronto Sceptres on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 23. The Victoire will be on the road after a long string of home games, they will face the Ottawa Charge on Saturday, Feb. 22.
