The CWHL’s Les Canadiennes de Montreal have announced their full preseason slate as training camps get underway for the 2016-17 season. The first of those preseason contests is set to take place on Sept. 9 against the McGill Martlets.
With 23 skaters and four goaltenders left on the team, preseason scrimmages may be the last opportunity for players to make an impression and earn a roster spot before the start of the season. Each CWHL club is allowed 25 total players, which means that the team is likely to cut a skater and a goaltender before the end of camp.
With the announcement of the preseason slate, the team also announced that they have cut former McGill Martlets goaltender Taylor Hough, bringing the camp roster down to those four remaining goaltenders, which include Charline Labonté, Catherine Herron, Jenny Lavigne and 2016 draft pick Amanda Makela.
