The Dallas Stars (44-21-4) blew a 2-0 third period lead to the Minnesota Wild (40-25-5) on Dec. 27, and eventually lost 3-2 in overtime. On Monday night, the Stars had another 2-0 third period lead but held on to beat the Wild 3-0.

Wyatt Johnston, Matt Duchene, and Mason Marchment scored for the Stars. Jake Oettinger made 33 saves for his second shutout of the season, and the first since Oct. 12.
Filip Gustavsson made 26 saves for the Wild.

After being held off of the scoresheet for the majority of the first period, the Stars finished the opening 20 minutes leading the Wild in shots 9-8. Oettinger did his part early to keep the game scoreless.
35 minutes into the contest, Johnston broke the tie with a tip-in power-play goal from a Thomas Harley shot in the slot. Duchene doubled the Stars’ lead with a wrist shot from the right circle, which beat Gustavsson blocker-side.

Marchment scored an empty net goal at 19:17 of the third to put the game away.
The Wild outshot the Stars 32-29 and went 0-for-4 on the power play. The Stars went 1-for-4 with the man-advantage.
