Patric Hornqvist Injured Saturday

The Pittsburgh Penguins suffered a tough loss on Saturday night, getting shutout by the surging New Jersey Devils.

The team lost not only the game, but top six forward Patric Hornqvist as well. The forward was injured about midway through the second period Saturday and left the game for the duration.

The team didn’t offer much of an update on what happened to Hornqvist. There wasn’t a clear play where he was injured and the team didn’t give much of an update. In his postgame press conference, Coach Mike Johnston said, “He was taken out of the game & I was told he wasn’t coming back in. I’m sure we’ll get an update in the next 24 hours.”

Hornqvist, like many Penguins forwards, doesn’t quite have the numbers you might expect given their talent levels. He has scored four goals and two assists through 17 games this season.
