Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ross Ventrone has been making hype videos for the Penguins as they march toward the franchise’s fourth Stanley Cup. Thursday, he posted another, potentially his last, after his first three videos resulted in Ws for the black and gold.
In this one, Ventrone, clad in bare legs, roller blades, a Steelers helmet, street hockey goalie equipment and a Phil Kessel jersey, channels Herb Brooks’s “Miracle” speech to his Steelers teammates who must be having a very tough time looking so blasé in the face of one of the great locker room speeches.
The Penguins might not be the underdogs that the “Miracle” team was, but the “Miracle” speech is like watching Ray Bourque hoist the Cup for the first time, hockey fans will take any excuse to give it another viewing.
