Buffalo Sabres goalie Michal Neuvirth has been fined $2,000 for diving, the National Hockey League announced Wednesday.
It’s Neuvirth’s second diving incident — the first one coming against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Nov. 15, but per new NHL rules, the second time comes with a fine (first time: just a warning).
This came during the second period of the Buffalo’s game against the Nashville Predators on Sunday at First Niagara Center. Predators forward Mike Santorelli appeared to have knocked over Neuvirth on a drive to the net, and Santarelli received a minor penalty for interference. But after further review from the NHL, they have concluded that the goalie was at fault — with embellishment.
The video is below. What do you think, did he deserve it?
