Ramzi Abid (born March 24, 1980) is a former Canadian ice hockey player, having played his final year in the NHL with the Nashville Predators during the 2006-2007 season. Originally drafted 28th overall by Colorado Avalanche in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Abid was re-drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. In his time with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), Abid put on a clinic. In 1997-98, he registered 135 points and 266 penalty minutes in 68 games with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. Two years later, he put up 137 points in 59 games with the Halifax Mooseheads, before adding 10 goals and 13 points in 10 games during the playoffs.
Abid made his NHL debut in the 2002-03 season, appearing in 30 games and amassing 10 goals and 18 points. That same season, he was packaged with Dan Focht and Guillaume Lefebvre and dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Jan Hrdina and Francois Leroux. His 2003-04 season with the Penguins was cut short to 16 games after a torn ACL required surgery, knocking him out for the remainder of the year. He came back the following season to play for the Penguins American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, scoring 26 goals and 55 points in 78 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Abid played in two more seasons, including brief stints with the Predators and Atlanta Thrashers. While his pre-season success gave him a glimmer of hope, he was relegated to the AHL in both seasons, often called-up as an injury replacement. Abid left the NHL to pursue his hockey career overseas in 2007, signing with SC Bern of the Swiss League. After short stints in Sweden, Russia, Latvia, Finland, and Germany, Abid announced his retirement at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season.
