Christoph Brandner (born July 5, 1975) is a former Austrian ice hockey player, having played his final year in the NHL with the Minnesota Wild during the 2003-2004 season. Drafted 207th overall by the Wild in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Brandner had established himself as a capable goal-scoring forward in Europe. After back-to-back Austrian Championships, he made his way to the Deutsche Eishockey League (DEL) in Germany, playing two seasons for the Krefeld Pinguine.

Making his NHL debut during the 2003-04 season, Brandner appeared in 35 games, registering four goals and nine points. He played the other half of the season with the team’s minor-league affiliate Houston Aeros, recording seven goals and 14 points in 37. Following the NHL lock-out, Brandner played in just 26 games for Houston before returning to Europe, signing with Södertälje SK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). This brought an end to his tenure in the NHL and North America.

Returning to Germany brought a resurgence to Brandner’s offensive game, as he recorded 70 points in 95 games in two seasons with the Hamburg Freezers. He was named to the All-Star Game in 2007, and the following year he aided Austria to a World Championship Division 1-A gold medal. Brandner played out the final four seasons of his hockey career in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (EBEL) with EC-KAC, captaining them to an EBEL Champion in 2009.
