Peter Bartos (born September 5, 1973) is a former Slovakian ice hockey player, having played his final year in the NHL with the Minnesota Wild during the 2000-2001 season. Drafted 214th overall by the Wild in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Bartos was an exceptional player in both the Slovakian and Czechia pro leagues prior to making his jump to North America. He recorded 89 points in 102 games in two seasons with HC České Budějovice and represented Slovakia internationally on four different occasions by that point.
In the 2000-01 season, Bartos made his NHL and North American debut, playing in 13 games with the Wild. He registered four goals and six points, but the underwhelming performance led to his demotion to the International Hockey League (IHL). He recorded 42 points in 56 games with the Cleveland Lumberjacks, but unsatisfied with his lack of opportunity, Bartos returned to Europe to continue playing for HC České Budějovice.
Following his Czechia club’s demotion to the second-tier league, Bartos jumped over to the Slovakian top league to play for HC Kosice. With his new team, he reached his most-successful run during his career, capturing five Slovakian Championships. Bartos also served as an alternate captain to the team in two seasons, and as captain for one. As a seasoned veteran on the back-end of his journey in hockey, he played four years in the third-tier Slovakian league, making stops with MHK Humenne, KH 58 Sanok, HK Bardejov, and HK Cana.
