All three contracts will kick in next season and run through 2017-18. Details for each contract are as follows…
Bryan Rust – $640,000 AAV
Scott Wilson – $625,000 AAV
Tom Kuhnhackl – $625,000 AAV
All three contacts are one-way deals.
Rust has three goals and eight points through 33 NHL games this season. Wilson has five goals and 6 points through 24 games and Kuhnhackl has netted two goals and six points in 28 games.
All three forwards have played important roles with the Penguins this season. While mainly playing bottom-six minutes and contributing on the penalty kill, Wilson has been slotted in on Sidney Crosby’s left side a bit recently as the Penguins have dealt with a multitude of injuries.
According to CapFriendly.Com, all three forwards were approaching restricted free agency this spring.
The Penguins’ remaining free agents at season’s end are as follows…
Unrestricted Free Agents
Matt Cullen
Jeff Zatkoff
Ben Lovejoy
Kevin Porter
