Panthers Get A Point, Fall To Jets 3-2 In Overtime

Like something out of the movie “300″, a depleted Florida Panthers unit nearly survived a last second onslaught by the Winnipeg Jets only to eventually fall 3-2 by way of a Bryan Little wrist shot with 16 seconds left in overtime. Even though the Panthers’ winning streak was cut short at two games, the team ...

Report From Panthers’ Open Scrimmage

CORAL SPRINGS, FL – The Florida Panthers returned to play Wednesday night in front of a crowd of rabid hockey hungry fans at their practice facility in Coral Springs. The energy of the arena was electric as fans got to see their team suit up and compete against each other for the first time this ...

Panthers’ Personality in the Sunshine State

You hear a lot about the “glue” that keeps a team together, and those token “locker room guys” on every team who seem to have the right thing to say… or maybe, know exactly how to loosen each guy up before a big game. They’re important to a team. Who are those guys on the ...

Five Reasons The Panthers Are No Joke

The Florida Panthers have been an unsuccessful team since the 2000-01 season. They have had eight different head coaches, ( Including interim coaching by Rick Dudley and John Torchetti in the 2003-04 season) in the last eleven years. The Panthers have only made the playoffs four times through eighteen years in the league. The instability of ...

Great Start for the Florida Panthers

What did we learn about the Panthers in their opening night win against the New York Islanders? We learned quite a lot actually, and the majority of it was positive. Here are some of my takeaways. Jose Theodore As I discussed in last week’s post previewing the game against the Islanders, Jose Theodore will have ...

NHL Top 100 Prospect Rankings (Part 4: 1 to 25)

#4 Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson EDM F 2009-10th

One-Timer: MPS. MSP. MP. Now known as simply Magnus Paajarvi. Call him anything, but call him one of the most talented young players in the game. Even at 10th, the Oilers got a gift. I had him ranked 7th in my my 2009 Draft Preview and here’s an excerpt:

MSP is a super creative winger with speed to burn. Known more of a playmaker, the talented Swede still knows how to finish. The powerful and smooth skating MSP is also very tough to knock off the puck. At 7th overall, he could prove to be a steal even at this rank.
