Bozek Named Player of the Week

Buffalo Beauts defenseman, Megan Bozek, was named “Player of the Week” by the National Women’s Hockey League for her game winning overtime goal on Sunday.

The Beauts and Pride played four times leading up to the January 3rd game. All four times the Pride topped the Beauts. Two of which were at the HarborCenter where the Beauts reside.

Sunday’s game was a chance for Beauts’ redemption. It was a day to prove to the league they are a force to be reckon with and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Redemption came 3:41 into overtime between the Beauts and Pride. Captain Emily Pfalzer sauced the puck to an open Bozek who wound up and blasted it past Pride goalie, Brittany Ott, into the net.

In 10 games this season, Bozek has 1 goal and 3 assists.

Bozek joins Kelley Steadman and Devon Skeats as the only Beauts to be named “Player of the Week”. She is also the first blue liner to be given this honor.
