Carey Price Not Ready to Return

Despite previously saying that the team would provide an update on Monday, the Montreal Canadiens were not able to provide an update on 2014-15 MVP and Vezina Trophy winner Carey Price’s health Monday.

Price has left Montreal to get “medical treatment,” according to LNH.com’s Arpon Basu.

The team announced last week that Price would be out for a week and Mike Condon would take over the goaltending duties in his stead. But with Condon on top of his game, there is no need to rush Price back and risk re-aggravating an injury when they can get him fully healthy.

Condon has gone 3-0-1 in Price’s absence, with a .937 save percentage. He played so well that he was named the NHL’s third star of the week on Monday, coming in behind Patrick Kane and Tyler Seguin.

Coach Michel Therrien said that the team will update the situation on Tuesday.
