Going undrafted at the NHL level, Gogolev signed with the Maple Leafs and started the 2020-21 season in Sweden, playing for Väsby IK of the HockeyAllsvenskan league. After recording two goals and one assist in 12 games, he returned to North America to dress for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL). Gogolev got off to a tremendous start with six goals and six assists in 13 games, but struggled to find his scoring touch the following season. He split the 2021-22 season between the Marlies and the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL.
