Nate Thompson Has Ruptured Achilles, Out Many Months

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Nate Thompson has ruptured his Achilles tendon during offseason training. General manager Bob Murray announced the bad news Tuesday. He said that Thompson will be out “a while.”

“We’ll be lucky to see him before the trade deadline, but he healed quickly from his shoulder injury,” Murray said.

The shoulder injury Murray refers to is the one that kept Thompson out of all but 49 games this season (well, that and a three-game suspension). He scored three goals and three assists with a -4.15% adjusted CF%Rel.
